Rules and terms and conditions
Thank you for your interest in the Visa 2012 Challenge.
Below you will find important information regarding the registration process, the rules of play and also details of the prizes for the winners and the runners up. Please ensure you read this information carefully before registering.
The purpose of the Challenge is to provide a unique and fun learning experience for all participants. There are a few rules, which have been established to ensure all teams have an equal opportunity to win the Challenge. We ask all participants to respect these rules to ensure a realistic simulation.
Registration
Any team wishing to participate in the Visa 2012 Challenge must register their interest on the registration site www.visachallenge.com by 5PM GMT on 15th February 2012. After this time, the registration site will close and no further registrations will be permitted. As there are a limited number of Challenge places available, we will send you an email before 16th February confirming whether you have been successful in securing a place.
Team Members and Team Names
A team can contain up to 4 different team members, one of whom must be nominated as the Team Captain. All team members must be from the same participating organisation which must be a member of Visa Europe. Team members must use their email address from their participating organisation when registering. Once registered, team members may not be substituted or added. Each individual may only register once.
When deciding on a team name, please be aware that these names, as well as the organisation name, will be visible to all other teams participating in the Challenge. Team names deemed offensive or derogatory to an individual or an organisation are therefore not permitted and may be subsequently disqualified from participating in the Challenge. Team names must not exceed 28 characters and are restricted to alphanumeric characters only.
Timings & Deadlines
The Visa 2012 Challenge runs over five rounds, each round representing a simulated year in the life of the card programme.
All decisions must be submitted in advance of the deadline for each round. The deadlines for each round can be found here: http://www.visachallenge.com/2012/timing.aspx. After the deadline, the round will automatically close and the website will not accept any late decisions.
If a team does not submit decisions by the deadline, the following default values will be used:
- For Round 1 these will be the default values published in the Decision Guide
- For subsequent Rounds the Challenge will use the same decisions that your team submitted in the previous Round
Due to the number of decisions required in each round, you should not wait until close to the submission deadlines before entering your decisions.
Note: In the event of connectivity issues, teams must contact the Visa Business School, Visa Europe, and at Visa Europe’s discretion teams may be permitted to submit their decisions by email. These will only be accepted if the email arrives at least 4 hours before the published deadline. Please send all emails to the following address ensuring that the team name is clearly indicated: visabs@visa.com
Visa Business School decision is final
The results, including all league & Challenge ladder positions and profitability calculations are made by the simulation and are not subject to enquiry. In the event of any dispute, Visa Business School, Visa Europe will arbitrate and all decisions made by the Visa Business School, Visa Europe are final.
